Critical Tax Aspects for Investment in Indonesia
M Hotel Singapore On 23 November 2011
Investment in Indonesia rebounded to an all-time high of RP208.5 trillion in 2010 on the back of the improved economic fundamentals in the Southeast Asia’s largest economy. In addition to having abundant natural resources, a young and technically trained work force, a large and growing domestic market, an improving investment climate and a higher global profile, the Indonesian government has introduced new tax incentives to further attract investments into the country. On 16th August 2011, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia officially issued a Finance Ministry Regulation on Corporate Income Tax Exemption which will offer tax holidays for investors.
This seminar will discuss the critical aspects of taxation for investment in Indonesia that should be understood by investors in order to comply with Indonesian laws and to achieve an efficient tax outcome. The discussion will cover the updates on government policy regarding tax holidays and the domestic laws on corporate and withholding tax. It will also discuss the benefit of Indonesia’s tax treaty network, including the procedures for implementation that may be used to achieve efficient taxation at the income source.
