FAMILY WEALTH and SUCCESSION PLANNING
Every year, Forbes releases a list of Indonesia’s 50 Richest. In 2022, 27 out of the 50 richest people in Indonesia, which are over half of the people in the list, are in their late 70s and 80s with a few even being in their 90s. As this decade draws to a close, we expect to see many new successors on the list.
Effective succession planning is a complex process that raises many potentially difficult emotional; financial; tax; legal; and equity issues. While it might sound like a lot of hard work, a well thought-out plan devised at the present, will ease worries now and help avoid pain and conflict in the future.
